Peach Filling
5 large fresh peaches - peeled, pitted and sliced
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup white sugar
Crust
1/2 cup shortening or unsalted butter
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup milk
Butter Water
1 cup boiling water
3 tablespoons butter
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 10x10-inch baking dish.
In a bowl, combine peaches with cinnamon vanilla and 1 cup sugar. Set aside.
In another bowl, cream together shortening and 1 cup sugar. Mix in flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla, alternating with milk.
Pour into prepared pan. Top with peach mixture. Drop butter in boiling water and pour all over peaches.
Bake for 60 minutes, until golden brown.
